Our band, Devlin, is an alternative-pop duo consisting of two female singers. The story and passion behind the band reflects our chosen ‘Siren’ Modern Myth. A half bird/female creature that maliciously allured men in with their seductive voices, resulting in their ultimate deaths. In Devlin’s case, Jacinta and Jennifer specifically captivate their audience with their powerful voices and entice them to share a devilish experience with them.

statement for Street Poster:
As our band is an alternative-pop band, our street poster will be targeted at an audience of both males and females aged between 17-30, as this is the audience that the band makes their music for and the poster will be showcasing this new duo and the style that they have undertaken. The Silhouette of a bird is a popular symbol that is reflected throughout textiles, tattoos, jewellery and ornaments, consumed by Devlin’s target market. The depiction of a bird also strong relates back to our chosen myth.

The target audience for my chosen magazine ‘Russh’, consists of both males and females aged between 16-30 and share a passion for music, art and fashion. The target market likes to keep up with the latest trends, artists and ideas which the magazine provides them with.
As our band is an alternative-pop band, our street poster will be targeted at an audience of both males and females aged between 17-30, as this is the audience that the band makes their music for and the poster will be showcasing this new duo and the style that they have undertaken. Our concept is based around the modern myth of ‘Sirens’, as in this myth, it was known that the sirens would allure men in with their beautiful voices and this is the idea that we want to portray. So we have incorporated this idea of two women who use their seductive voices along with their deceptive ‘purity’ to allure their audience in.
A/W trends:
Up coming trends for A/W 2014-2015 include a colour palette of blues metalics, which will come through in some of the eye makeup, and there will be touches of blue within some of the accessories. Another upcoming trend is embroidery on clothing, so we are representing this by using a detailed lace. Also mixing different textures such as leather, scales and wool.

Our band consists of two people, two female singers. The genre of their music is alternative-pop and the singing has a very ‘Lana Delray’ feel to it. Their music and style is also quite edgy.
